LIFE IN THE RAW - AFGHANISTAN

I have read many excerpts of what is happening to our military in Afghanistan, but this is closest to the truth. I had to print it for all to read and think about. We take in too much garbage from all the news media and sock it away in our brains as the truth, but most of us have no idea the horrors of fighting in a backward country with as little morals as a coyote.

I have served in Korea, when it was a total disaster from the fighting and I can relate to this Marine’s thoughts. Read and enjoy a moment of reality and truth of what our service men go through on a day to day basis.

 

Chiggers, Sand Fleas and Scorpions!

I'm sitting on hard, cold dirt between rocks and shrubs at the base of the
Hindu Kush Mountains , along the Dar 'yoi Pomir River , watching a hole that
leads to a tunnel that leads to a cave.  Stake out, my friend, and no pizza
delivery for thousands of miles.

I also glance at the area around my ass every ten to fifteen seconds to
avoid another scorpion sting.  I've actually given up battling the chiggers
and sand fleas, but the scorpions give a jolt like a cattle prod.  Hurts
like a bastard..  The antidote tastes like transmission fluid, but God bless
the Marine Corps for the five vials of it in my pack.

The one truth the Taliban cannot escape is that, believe it or not, they are
human beings, which means they have to eat food and drink water.  That
requires couriers and that's where an old bounty hunter like me comes in
handy.  I track the couriers, locate the tunnel entrances and storage
facilities, type the info into the handheld, shoot the coordinates up to the
satellite link that tells the air commanders where to drop the hardware. We
bash some heads for a while, then I track and record the new movement.

It's all about intelligence.  We haven't even brought in the snipers yet.
These scurrying rats have no idea what they're in for.  We are but days away
from cutting off supply lines and allowing the eradication to begin.

I dream of bin Laden waking up to find me standing over him with my boot on
his throat as I spit into his face and plunge my nickel-plated Bowie knife
through his frontal lobe.  But you know me, I'm a romantic.  I've said it
before and I'll say it again: This country blows, man. It's not even a
country.  There are no roads, there's no infrastructure, there's no
government. This is an inhospitable, rock pit shit hole ruled by eleventh
century warring tribes.  There are no jobs here like we know jobs.

Afghanistan offers two ways for a man to support his family: join the opium
trade or join the army. That's it.  Those are your options.  Oh, I forgot,
you can also live in a refugee camp and eat plum-sweetened, crushed beetle
paste and squirt mud like a goose with stomach flu, if that's your idea of a
party.  But the smell alone of those 'tent cities of the walking dead' is
enough to hurl you into the poppy fields to cheerfully scrape bulbs for
eighteen hours a day.

Not the Best Way to Live
I've been living with these Tajiks and Uzbeks, and Turkmen and even a couple
of Pushtuns, for over a month-and-a-half now, and this much I can say for
sure:  These guys, all of 'em, are Huns...  actual, living Huns..  They LIVE
to fight.  It's what they do.  It's ALL they do. They have no respect for
anything, not for their families, nor for each other, nor for themselves.
They claw at one another as a way of life. They play polo with dead calves
and force their five-year-old sons into human cockfights to defend the
family honor.  Huns, roaming packs of savage, heartless beasts who feed on
each other's barbarism.  Cavemen with AK-47's.  Then again, maybe I'm just
cranky.

I'm freezing my ass off on this stupid hill because my lap warmer is running
out of juice, and I can't recharge it until the sun comes up in a few hours.
Oh yeah!  You like to write letters, right?  Do me a favor, Bizarre.  Write
a letter to CNN and tell Wolf and Anderson and that awful, sneering, pompous
Aaron Brown to stop calling the Taliban 'smart.' They are not smart.  I
suggest CNN invest in a dictionary because the word they are looking for is
'cunning.' The Taliban are cunning, like jackals and hyenas and wolverines.
They are sneaky and ruthless, and when confronted, cowardly.  They are
hateful, malevolent parasites who create nothing and destroy everything
else. Smart.  Pfft.  Yeah, they're real smart.

They've spent their entire lives reading only one book (and not a very good
one, as books go) and consider hygiene and indoor plumbing to be products of
the devil.  They're still figuring out how to work a Bic lighter.  Talking
to a Taliban warrior about improving his quality of life is like trying to
teach an ape how to hold a pen; eventually he just gets frustrated and
sticks you in the eye with it.

OK, enough.  Snuffle will be up soon, so I have to get back to my hole.
Covering my tracks in the snow takes a lot of practice, but I'm good at it.

Got it Covered
Please, I tell you and my fellow Americans to turn off the TV sets and move
on with your lives. The story line you are getting from CNN and other news
agencies is utter bullshit and designed not to deliver truth but rather to
keep you glued to the screen through the commercials.  We've got this one
under control The worst thing you guys can do right now is sit around
analyzing what we're doing over here, because you have no idea what we're
doing, and really, you don't want to know.  We are your military, and we are
doing what you sent us here to do.

Illegal Immigrants Estimated to Account For 1 in 12 U.S. Births

 It has been reported in statistics that one in 12 babies born on U S soil in 2008 were born to illegal immigrants. According to a new study, an estimate that could inflame debate over birthright citizenship in this year of important elections and into the 2012 election year.

Dozens of U S born children, born to undocumented parents, traveled to Washington in July to demonstrate against deportations of illegal immigrant parents. When will the rapid increase of children born to illegal aliens, from many countries be denied citizenship in the U S? Undocumented immigrants make up more than 4% of the adults in this country at the present time, but their babies represented more twice that number, or 8%, of all births in the U S in 2008, according to the nonpartisan Pew Hispanic Center's report.

"Unauthorized immigrants are younger than the rest of the population, are more likely to be married and have higher fertility rates than the rest of the population," according to Jeffrey Passel, senior demographer at Pew in Washington. The report was based on Pew's analysis of the Census Bureau's March 2009 Current Population Survey, which also found that the largest amount, 79% of the more than 5 million children born to illegal immigrants living in the U S in 2009 were born on American soil and under current law are citizens of the U S.

Too Much Growth Can Ruin the Country’s Economy

The question we should ask at this is should citizenship be denied children born on American soil to illegal immigrants to protect our fast growing population in this country?  In all close to 11 million undocumented immigrants live in the U S and Latinos account for 75% of those illegal immigrants and account for about 85% of the births.  A spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a national group that lobbies for curbing immigration, said Wednesday its studies have yielded numbers similar to those estimated by Pew.  This is a dangerous situation that can only undermine the country further.

One in 12 babies born in the U S in 2008 were children of illegal immigrant parents according to a new study; an estimate that could inflame the debate over birthright citizenship. A video can be seen on Fox News about the situation the country is facing.  Amid a hot national debate about illegal immigration, some Republican politicians have been calling for changes to the Constitution's 14th Amendment, which grants citizenship to all persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, in order to deny citizenship to children born in the U S to unlawful residents.

Just last month, South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham announced support to reconsider automatic U S citizenship for anchor babies born to illegal immigrants and said the status quo enticed people to enter the country illegally for the purpose of having their children on American soil so as to qualify for U.S. benefits.

Under U.S. law, children have to wait until they reach the age of 21 before they can petition for permanent legal residency for their parents.  South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham announced his support for reconsidering automatic citizenship for anchor babies born to illegal immigrants.  Recently, Mr. Graham's idea has been embraced by several other lawmakers, including Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona, where state legislators passed a controversial law to quash illegal immigration. A federal judge stayed major portions of the law on July 28 even though the lower court has no jurisdiction over cases against a sovereign state and the case has been appealed to the only court that has jurisdiction over state cases; the Supreme Court of the United States.

Legislation to amend birthright citizenship stalled when it was introduced in the past decade in the House because it would require a vote of two-thirds of both the House and Senate, and would have to be ratified by three-fourths of the states legislatures.

Those in favor of amending the 14th Amendment, which was enacted in 1868, say it was intended to guarantee citizenship to freed slaves after the Civil War, not the offspring of illegal immigrants. They are expected to appeal to conservative Republican voters as immigration comes up as a central issue in November elections.  GOP opponents of repealing birthright citizenship say it undermines the party's electoral prospects among Hispanics, the nation's largest minority and fastest-growing group of voters. Democrats are mostly opposed to the repeal, knowing that the voting base will likely be in favor of their party. 

Looking at the World Through Rose Colored Glasses

Life always looks better if one closes their mind to the facts that are staring at them, but if the blinders are taken off they can see the reality of what is happening to our nation and the direction it is headed. The more big government dictates to our lives at the national and state level, the closer we move toward communism and/or a dictatorship.

Everyone was up in arms and running scared of the dictatorship that they saw on the horizon when Richard Nixon broke the law and tried to fix the race in a Presidential race. Now we have a man in office who will not prove his citizenship beyond a doubt, or allow it to be investigated. If Obama is who he says he is, then he should have nothing to fear. One thing is blatantly clear, that he is trying to break the Constitution and to take our country where the majority of the people do not want to go.

According to Mr Bob Diven, we have nothing to fear but fear itself and we should accept everything that the Obama administration hands us with humility and grace, as though he and the rest of his handpicked group is God Almighty and his underlings are the Angels who serve him. If we do this we have placed him in the stature of God, or at the least the second coming of Christ. Many of we Christians would be offended to give this honor to anyone but the Trinity. Many would have doubts that Obama or his cohorts that he has the best interest of the American people at heart when he foolishly bows down to our proven enemies and insults our known friends.

I do not know Mr Divens religious tenets, beliefs, or disbeliefs, but I have to think he is not a Christian, nor does he believe that the Constitution was set down to protect a God fearing nation. Therefore he must be a follower of Islam, has no beliefs or thoughts on religion at all. To spout the rhetoric and lies that he espouses in his guest column of August 10 only lends credence to this my study of him and what he stands for. As my grandmother taught me, “you are what you say and do and with whom you associate.

I take it he (Mr Givens) was not taught that he should beware of false prophets, when he was growing up, or considers himself to be a free thinker, or atheist. I do not cast stones at him, only state what my observations and reading his writings tells me. I think in his own way he may be a misguided and misled individual who believes the garbage he tries to sell the people.

To become inured to the ‘epithets  and partisan mimics’ he talks about, it is not for another human to tell us what to think, but our minds and studying of a problem or event. If many believe, then it would, in my estimation, be because they have taken it into their minds and made a logical and educated decision from the data they have received. Otherwise he has called the masses of humanity fools and sheep to be led. I for one, have never considered myself a sheep or a fool, so I would have to say he must be talking about the rest of the people who populate this great country.

Seems somewhere a man much wiser than we said “beware of calling a man a fool for therein lies the road to Hell.” To call a man a fool, idiot, stupid, or without a conscience is to anger one’s opponents and make of him an enemy. To lie to him and promise what you cannot produce is to break his trust and his faith in what you have to say.

Reviewing the Facts

The facts show that Obama has promised the people many things that he cannot and had no intentions of honoring. The facts show that he is leading the American people into an area the majority do not wish to be. He has made a mess of everything he has attempted and tried to blame his mistakes and blunders on someone else. He has made a grand blunder in fostering a Health Reform Bill onto the people at a cost that the next three generations will be paying for, without benefit of money to cover it, except the raiding of Social Security and Medicare, which was set up to cover the aged.

In everything he does that fails from the bailouts, Health reform, Cap and Trade, to the oil spill, he has continually made a mess of it and then in his twisted ego tried to blame everyone else and take no responsibility for any of the failures. In his own words Mr Divens says that Obama is being maligned for no reason other than to appease the rich people of the Conservative group, but he negates to tell the facts about the rich fat cats of the unions and the rest of the thieves in that back the agendas of the leftists.

Mr Divens does not tell you about the government printing more and more money to cover its rampant spending at our expense, nor does he mention the huge loans from our foremost enemy, China. He does not mention the bailout of GM, the banks, or the insurance companies who contributed to the Obama campaign and are now sitting high and mighty, while giving huge bonuses to their CEO’s with money that came from our pockets. Of course these are all the fault of the past Bush administration, even though the Senate and Congress were controlled by liberals during Bush’s tenure.

How can so many mistakes and problems be laid at the feet of everyone else. Obama is in charge and has his minions controlling the Senate and Congress and yet it conveniently is always someone else’s fault but his. Mr Divens would have you believe that it is Bush’s fault that Bingaman, Udall and Teague are pushing so hard because they have the best interest of the nation in mind, yet they are putting us on a road to criminal activity likened to that of the Organ Pipe Monument. How is this in the best interest of the country when we cannot even travel the area for fear of our very lives?

The facts Mr Divens has given are too shaky to believe and come from a mind that is hard core liberal and bent on seeing our country destroyed by a usurper to the Presidency. I will give him credit though he is good with the written word and can weave a spell that is hard to resist. But if anyone really wants to know what is happening, all they have to do is open their minds and eyes and they can see what is happening. He is well aware of the power of the written word, for many rely on those words for the truth. It is sad that some would bend and twist the words to give a false impression to the public.

Will we let him think of us as sheep without minds of our own? Will we search out the truth and act upon the reality of what our eyes and minds perceive, or will we rely on someone else to do our thinking for us and give us what they think we should have? Again, I ask you to beware of false prophets that would fill your mind with false ideas.

Column - The One and Only Goal Right Now for New Mexico Schools - 700 words

August is roasting time in New Mexico: fresh picked green chile and the New Mexico public schools for their Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) numbers. We take green chile most seriously - Big Jim or Sandia? Two sacks, will that be enough? Make it three, no four… while most New Mexicans shrug at the AYP numbers indicating three of four New Mexico schools not making the prescribed annual yearly progress.

When I look at the numbers I see something far more ominous in that half of all New Mexico students are not reading at or above their own grade level. Reading is THE core educational activity in schools. Any dysfunction in reading has broad long-term implications for students. At the very least they do not get all of the instruction since 80% of instruction is in written form. At the worst they become turned off to education and form the nucleus of the drop out problem which is sometimes framed to be about half of the students. Hmmm, half do not read to grade level and in some districts half of the students drop out.

While half the students are not reading at least at grade level their textbooks are carefully written for their grade reading level. Further, tests are first a test of reading level and then a test of the subject matter. So half of the students are not reading at the level of the material being presented or of the tests they are taking.

It is Time for Action

Mexico must focus on one and only one goal: all students able to read at the level of their grade. OK, I would set a realistic goal of 90% of New Mexico students reading on grade level.

Remember, the one and only goal is reading on grade level, not reading 10% better or using phonics or using some program approach since these are only strategies. The goal, the one and only goal, is that they read on grade level.

This fix for New Mexico schools is in two parts: first, students must start Kindergarten on or above grade reading level and keep making one year of reading level progress each year. Or, second, if students start Kindergarten behind in reading level then they must make catch up reading level progress while also making one year of reading level progress which is very hard to do. Special attention should be focused on no student starting third grade without the ability to read at the third grade reading level. Period.

This is an educational goal, not a political goal like No Child Left Behind. How New Mexico students got behind is very important. For many students it is their first day in school when it is obvious they lack the literate and numerate skills of a five year old. There is no way the schools can be blamed when students arrive at school their first day with the literate skills of a three-year old, while some with the literate skills of a four-year old. They go into the classroom with the rest of the students who arrive with at or above the required literate skills. Those who start two years behind rarely can catch up and are always a dropout risk.

To really address the central problem in schools does require a cultural change in the society so that all children ages one to five get read to twenty minutes every day and spend at least five minutes each day in letter/number games. This reading to children each and every day must take on the specter of buckling them into their car seat each and every time. Failure to read to children has the potential to damage them like not buckling them into a car seat. Each and every family, each and every child care provider must take the sacred twenty minutes seriously. Then all students will start on the correct reading level their first day in school.

To improve, New Mexico’s public schools should forget everything else and concentrate on making reading at grade level THE GOAL. Any attention to anything else is wasted if the core competency of reading on grade level is not achieved by all students.

Unbelievable, isn't it!!! Everyone needs to see this. I foresee many flyovers by the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels will be canceled in the next three years also.  Also demonstrations by the Golden Knights and our service bands. This guy OBAMA is out of control!!!

Obama denied a military flyover at the annual God and Country rally in Idaho, where new military recruits were inducted and all military were honored.  This is the first time in 42 years that there has not been a military flyover in formation, and organizers were stunned that Obama refused to allow this.

When the lady organizing the event contacted the Pentagon to ask why this was not allowed, as it had occurred every year for 42 years, she was told it was because of the event had a Christian nature.

The video also mentions that when Obama made a recent speech, a cross and a Christian symbol for Jesus had to be covered first.

This is beyond unbelievable action by the Commander in Chief and our President, and the Americans need to know about it!

Possibility of War, or Will Obama Administration Back Down

July was one of the deadliest months for our forces in Afghanistan while in Iraq political factions are continuing with a five-month squabble over who will lead the government of that country and the insurgent violence is mounting all the while. The Wiki Leaks info-dump of over 90,000 documents, is proving to the few who have not realized the United States is in so deep they cannot dig their way out, have shown that our ally Pakistan is collaborating with al-Qaeda and the Taliban, planning attacks on coalition forces in Afghanistan.

The Pentagon has enough on its plate without more war, but superpowers do not think this way. The U S has entered with Foreign Policy In Focus (FPIF) with the backing of Fran Shor who argues that an age of empirical overkill, on which we rely more heavily on our military to compensate for an ebbing social, cultural, ideology in other domains." We are being dragged down into our own web of crisis in southwest Asia, yet the Pentagon wants to make sure that other potential kings of the hill don't take advantage of U S preoccupation.

Over the last few months, the Obama administration has engaged itself in serious displays of force in Asia. Washington has tightened their hold on North Korea and gone head-on against China. The Pentagon may be signaling Pyongyang and Beijing that it can handle the additional fight if need be, but the U S could find ourselves halfway down up the road to war when it's too late to back down.

Ever since taking office, after North Korea's second nuclear test, the Obama administration has been unenthusiastic about confronting Pyongyang, but instead, has settled into a containment of the country. The sinking of South Korea’s ship, the Cheonan less than three months ago, which an international inquiry laid at the door of Pyongyang, made matters worse in the long run. Rather than proceeding with caution, the Obama administration was pulled into more dangerous waters, because of the South Korean government.

Hardliners in South Korea’s military and their administration under President Lee Myung Bak, bent on thwarting any possibility of dialogue with North Korea, has pushed relentlessly for a more confrontational attitude towards Pyongyang, looking for Washington to take actions that made the Obama administration very uncomfortable, according to CNN reporter Mike Chinoy.

These actions included last month's stepping up of naval exercises near the Korean peninsula, when the Pentagon added a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier to the exercises. The U S/South Korea exercise, with the show of force provided by 200 planes, 20 warships, and 8,000 soldiers, was put into play just after China and Russia managed to tone down a U N Security Council statement, condemning the sinking of the Cheonan by avoiding any mention of North Korea as culprit.
In the aftermath of this statement, North Korea pledged to return to the Talks and pursue both a peace treaty and denuclearization. But Washington remains in containment-plus stance, which could very well elicit the kind of North Korean response, such as a third nuclear test or another long-range missile launch or both, that will bring on another increase in tensions.

As it tightens the screws on Pyongyang with new financial sanctions and monthly U S/South Korean military exercises Washington is turning up the pressure on Beijing. True, at the last minute, the administration backed away from direct confrontation with China by deploying the carrier George Washington not to the Yellow Sea, as pushed for by South Korea, but farther away from China, in the Sea of Japan. It looks like the next time, in this month's exercises; the Pentagon will send the carrier to the Yellow Sea, even over the Chinese government’s objections. In other ways, too, the Obama administration seems to be spoiling for a fight. At the recent ASIAN summit, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tried to pressure China to internationalize the multi-party territorial dispute in the South China Sea. This move required lining up the support almost a dozen countries in advance and caught China by surprise. Beijing would like to handle the dispute bilaterally with the super powers such as China or the United States who usually prefer to throw their weight around in one-on-one negotiations.

Pentagon Does Not Want War in Asia

The Obama administration, like the Bush administration, engages China at the highest levels on economic issues; we depend on Chinese manufacturers, Chinese banks, and, occasionally, Chinese consumers, but we work hardest to contain China militarily. From Beijing all you see is the United States making allies, sending arms, or intervening militarily on Chinese borders while the wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the pacts with South Korea and Japan, the arms sales to Taiwan and India, continue to disturb China. We call it hedging, but they call it encroachment and where China has made strong alliances of its own with Iran, Burma and North Korea, we've done everything to disrupt them. Granted, China is siding with some rough and tough countries, but for equally pragmatic reasons; the United States cultivates some shady relationships, with the likes of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Israel. So China takes umbrage at the double standard and resists U S pressure to join in the sanctions and stranglehold on Iran and North Korea.

The Pentagon doesn’t want to go to war in Asia because North Korea could cause devastation in South Korea. A war with China, meanwhile, would cause global devastation. Nor does either Pyongyang or Beijing want to pick a fight with the world's largest military country.

But the United States is not willing to cede influence in Asia to a rising China, according to a recent report from a bipartisan panel of military experts, chaired by former U S officials Stephen Hadley and William Perry who recommend the U S embark on a major upgrade of U.S. naval capabilities in case of the need to confront China. This report, is couched in the language of long term and is appropriately diplomatic

The reality on the ground, or on the water, is something totally different. When we conduct military exercises at China’s front door, within range of a clearly antagonistic North Korea, we could be starting something that we neither want nor are able to finish. In the dualism of our decline, we can think only of showing our muscles or of relinquishing power; a use it or lose it attitude. We shouldn't be surprised when and if we meet similar behavior from our allies and enemies as well.

Meanwhile In the Balkans

It's been more than ten years since the wars in the Balkans ended. The conflicts that divided former Yugoslavia seem very 20th century in retrospect. As much as many writers attempted to picture the Balkan wars in religious terms; Orthodox vs. Catholic vs. Muslim, etc., they were mostly bloody struggles over territory and spoils of war, parochial in every sense of the word, but as FPIF contributor David Gibbs points out, the wars in the Balkans predicted the wars of the 21st century in one important way. They provided a rationale for U S military intervention that would later be set aside by both the Bush and Obama administrations. When intervention was first undertaken in Bosnia for instance, it mainly served to make the crisis worse, argues Gibbs in The Srebrenica Massacre, After 15 Years. There was a lot of  potential for a diplomatic solution to the Bosnia war and there is evidence that diplomacy came close to settling the conflict, thus preventing the Srebrenica massacre, but this was blocked by the United States.

Only little Slovenia managed to join the European Union, while the rest of the country was left waiting at the altar.

Sell Out Harry Votes For Third Bailout Bill Again

Harry Teague voted not once, but three times to sell out the people of New Mexico and the U S! He has officially voted for of his third bailout bill, HR 1586, the so-called State Bailout yesterday, which shells out yet another $26.1 BILLION dollars of our taxes to run roughshod over the states and waste more tax dollars.

This bill pays union bosses, raises taxes on business, while it rewards heavy spending Democrat states. According to the Obama, Pelosi and Teague group, this new bailout is going to protect teachers, firemen and policemen from being laid off. This is a blatant lie. In fact it, if you look at HR 1586 one can easily see through it.

1.     FEDERAL TAKEOVER OF STATE BUDGETS 

This new bailout stipulates that federal funds must be used to supplement, but not to replace states spending on public education. And further, it mandates that what each state spending on education must match or be greater than what that state spent on education the previous year. This bill mandates what a state must spend on its education programs. Mississippi Governor, Haley Barbour was quoted in today's Wall Street Journal, “that this new bailout bill will force his state to rewrite their current budget for fiscal year 2011 and increase funding, destroying their already balanced budget.

Texas is specifically targeted because it refused to spend all of the stimulus money the feds tried to force down their throat. The funding rule of this new bailout continues until 2012 for Texas alone. This is to force Texas to increase government spending bringing it into reliance with federal stimulus money and stipulations. Texas Congressmen sent Speaker Nancy Pelosi a letter this past Friday, in which he informed her that, "This provision (i.e. funding rule) would have Texas violate her own State Constitution. The Texas Legislature has sole authority to determine State appropriations. Moreover, one Legislature cannot bind a future Legislature. Requiring the State to assure that a future Texas Legislature would commit to spend funds in accordance with these provisions would violate the Texas Constitution."

Texas Governor Rick Perry has come out hard against the anti-Texas rule by saying, “it would break the budget of Texas.” It looks as though the left-wing machine in Washington hates the fact that Texas has learned to live within their means and is the most business friendly and recession proof state in the nation currently since it does the following.

3.     MORE TAX HIKES ON BUSINESS  

In order to pay for part of this new bailout when it comes to Medicaid, the left-wing majority in Congress has pushed through a tax hike on companies that do business overseas. These tax hikes were implemented to fund a 6 month appropriations gap in Medicaid funding. We are going to implement about 10 years of new taxes against American businesses, which will prevent job creation and economic recovery, just to fix only 6 month period of missing Medicaid funding. This is absolutely insane!

Again, Harry Teague voted for more big government. Harry Teague voted for more forced state mandates, Harry Teague voted in for higher taxes and Teague voted for more payoffs to union bosses. Teague voted to appease his bosses, Pelosi, Reid and Obama . To keep Teague in office would be a detriment to the state of New Mexico and to the country.

His radical, left-wing cohorts and Wilderness defenders attempted to attack Teague's GOP opponent, Steve Pearce, with old ethics accusation. The only problem is that the alleged ethics violation against Pearce were found vindicated by the House Ethics Committee, which at the time was made up of ½  Conservativesa and ½  Democrat and the organization that accused Pearce, The Center for Responsibility and Ethics admitted in writing that their investigation was skewed. CREW is a liberal biased organization that is run by several former Democratic congressional aides and left-wing policy group staffers (http://www.citizensforethics.org/about/staff). And strangely there was no word from Teague's people condemning Defenders of Wilderness organizations. Does this tell you where Harry Teague stands and for whom?

 

 

 Once More Democrats Try To Kill Off The Military Vote

Harlingen, Texas, August 10, 2010:  Stuffing ballot boxes, faking election results, sending in illegal ballots, having ineligible people vote, and threats of harm to potential voters…All of these things have taken place during American elections.

Today we have millions of people who will be voting for the first time.  There are millions more who became of voting age after the year 2000.

Most of them have no knowledge of how the Democrat Party tried to capture the presidential vote in Florida by denying American military personnel their right to cast a ballot in that election.

The 2000 national election for President of the Unite States of America was too close to call, even if the mainstream media was predicting a win for Al Gore.  The race finally came down to which candidate won the Florida vote.

The race was so tight that a recount was demanded.  Florida’s Democrat majority Supreme Court decided that only four heavily Democratic counties would undergo a recount.  Historically when the Democrats have handled any recount they have seldom lost an election.  To assure themselves such a victory Party attorney Mark Herron wrote a letter of instructions to all Democrat organizations and the Gore campaign detailing for them how to challenge all military votes sent in from overseas posts.  When that letter was written George Bush was ahead in the vote count.

Both Florida and Federal law require military mail-in ballots to be counted if they are received within ten days after an election.  The Democrat Party knows those in uniform historically are conservative in nature.  It is estimated that up to 80% of military personnel vote for the GOP.  This could not be allowed in a tight race and the Herron letter instructed those counting the ballots to challenge or deny military ballots before the envelope was opened.  A long list of ways to exclude these votes was also provided in the letter.

The end result was this ploy to deny American fighting men and women their blood earned right to vote failed to work…and George W. Bush was elected to the office of President.

Since that event transpired, the Military and Overseas Voting Empowerment (MOVE) Act has become law.  That act requires every state to send absentee ballots to overseas military voters no later than 45 days before a general election, thus removing problems of time delay in getting ballots to service personnel and returned to the state where they are voting.

But there are political people who will never stop trying to twist situations to their own special advantage.  The Obama Administration’s Justice Department has been suggesting to various states that they can ignore the 45-day rule for absentee ballots and delay sending them overseas.  They are being told they can request waivers of that 45-day rule and that waivers will be generously granted.

Another important fact legal experts have noted is the Department of Justice website, filled with various instructions and information on voting, makes no mention of the 45 day advanced posting rule set forth in the MOVE act.

Political writer Paul R. Hollrah noted in an article he penned, A“It is no secret that members of our military services, veterans, and retired military personnel vote heavily Republican.  It is also no secret that the party of choice among prison inmates, convicted felons and parolees is the Democrat Party.”

He then points out that even though the Department of Justice website fails to mention the MOVE Act or offer instructions or details related to overseas military voting, “it does contain a detailed section devoted to instructing convicted felons on how to have their voting rights reinstated.”

Here we are, less than three months away from another general election and once again the Democrats are attempting to suppress the military vote, while at the same time they attempt to let the criminal element of the country know their votes are welcome.

Senator Bingaman, Senator Udall, and Representative Teague,

I am very seriously concerned about our National Security, the transparency of our borders, and our inability to detect incursions.

I cite a recent personal example.  On Tuesday, August 3, I had a full-body PET (positron emission tomography) scan to confirm my continued remission from non-Hodgkins’ lymphoma.  The basis for the PET is injection of a radioactive isotope solution into the blood stream followed by a 3-diminsional scan of the entire person.  So, I was radioactive for 48 hours.

Having heard that the Border Patrol check points have radiation detection, for the two previous PET scans, I have visited all 4 check points around Las Cruces (I-10, US-70, I-25, and NM-185).  On all of those visits I was not stopped.  So, on this excursion to test the system, if not stopped, I decided to ask if they had radiation detection.

So, after completing the PET process, I proceeded to west on I-10 for a third attempt.  After declaring my citizenship to the Border Patrol Agent, who then said “Have a good day” and was about to wave me through, I asked if they were using radiation detectors, he looked up across the drive through and said “You just set it off, please pull left for inspection.”  Why did I need tell him that I was radioactive?  As I have said I have done this twice before!

What if I had been transporting radioactive materials to make a dirty bomb to contaminate and poison some city in the USA?  How much contraband radioactive material has been thus transported throughout the USA by terrorists that was not detected by the failure of the Border Patrol to use the expensive radiation detection equipment it has purchased but does not use?

I am concerned about the security of the USA!
