The Me Fixation
According to Obama when asked about the upset in Massachusetts his statement was that the same thing that got Scott Brown elected was the same thing that got him elected. He seems to believe that it was his popularity as a candidate that carried him into office, not facing the fact that he was the first black candidate that said what the people wanted to hear. He spewed his rhetorical message of “change” over the airways and fired up a people who had had enough of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and wanted our military out of harm’s way.
What Obama didn’t realize was that the election in Massachusetts was in some way about him, but not in the way he thought it was. His campaigning for Scott Brown’s opponent in Massachusetts was the straw that broke the proverbial Camel’s back. The people had enough of Obama and his experimenting with the economy.
In just one year in office, he's spent more money trying to bail out the banks, the auto industry and experimenting with a stimulus that doesn't work, all with taxpayer money. It has reached the people in a way that no other could have. The people of Massachusetts are just plain fed up with the wasteful spending of the Congress and the Obama administration. They voiced their opinion loud and clear and it is being echoed around the country like a wildfire on the loose. The voters have shifted to the conservative side in large numbers in the states of Virginia and New Jersey as well by picking conservatives over the Progressive Democrats.
The blue states are turning red so fast it looks like a cut artery. They are mandating that the spending must stop and the power take over by the Obama administration be stopped. They want there country back and they want it now. When they speak in the elections of this year, 2010, the change in the Senate and Congress should be felt by the entire Obama administration. Instead of the shot heard around the world, it will be the shout heard around the world, and leading the way is the Tea Party, a newly formed group that is tired of being pushed around and tired of being overtaxed by their government.
This is no longer a loose knit group that took their voices to Washington in protest of government spending and taxation without proper representation. This is an organization that has formed into a group that has the power to change things for the better, not just "change" for the sake of change. They are a group that believes in what our founding father’s envisioned when they signed the Declaration of Independence and wrote the Constitution. They believe in God, family, home and the right to live a peaceful life and pursue the American dream.
The members of this group have sent out many messages, pushing their members into action against bills that are detrimental to this country and its people. They are pushing for the death of the Obama, Reid and Pelosi Health bill, the Cap and Trade bill, the right to bear arms and many other bills including and of equal importance, a bill that would give amnesty to 20 million illegals in this country. They are fighting to retain our freedoms as set down in our Constitution and against over burdensome taxes that are breaking our backs.
It is a movement that has not been seen in this country for more than 200 years, and their voices are being heard loud and clear from the west coast to the east coast, or should I pun "from sea to shining sea" and from border to border.
Scott brown not only had the good guy image that was needed to win, he also ran as a man who wanted to stop the Obama Health Care from becoming a law and said “I can change it, and the people of Massachusetts listened to him and believed in him. “The People of Massachusetts and the rest of the United States do not want a trillion dollar Health Care bill forced on them,” Brown said. “It will destroy jobs, raise taxes, put our nation deeper in debt and hurt Medicare,” he said. The people knew he was speaking the truth and they let the country know about it when they went to the polls.
In his debate with Coakely when asked by Dave Gergen, the moderator, about taking Ted Kennedy’s seat to derail Health Care, he stated. “With all due respect it isn’t Ted Kennedy’s seat, not the Democrat’s seat; it is the American People’s seat.”
The Change In The Tide
That is when the people knew he was their man. From that moment on he had to backing of the people of the state behind him. Martha Coakely had to swim upriver against a strong tide of predominantly Catholics in Massachusetts, by offering the advice that “if you object to abortion you probably shouldn’t work in the emergency room of a hospital.” She also spoke out demeaning the Red Sox hero Curt Schilling while speaking to the sports fans at Fenway Park.
The Health care bill finally became such a heavy burden nor could the media hope to carry, as the media kept referring to the Congressional seat as “Kennedy’s seat”. To add insult to injury, Pelosi even wanted to name the Health Care Bill after Ted Kennedy, because he had spent his whole life fighting for just such a bill. One commentator even went so far as to say, “It would be a tragedy of Greek proportions if Ted Kennedy’s successor was responsible for the death of the Health Care bill.
Even as the Health bill dies, Obama and his administration along with a Democrat controlled Congress and a Democrat controlled Senate, Obama is trying to place the blame elsewhere. He will not admit that any fault was his. This is the mind of a person who appears to be an egotistical maniac of the highest degree. And he is the man who is supposedly leading our country? That scares the Beelzebub out of me and it should scare the rest of you folks out there. Count your “change”; it might just be all you have left when the dust settles.
